— Amalgamated African Professionals · Annual professional subscription

Licensed publications. Continuing education. Digital certification.

The AAP annual subscription provides licensed access to the AAP and OUBAS publication set, continuing-education material and an annual digital practice certificate. Professional discussion areas are a non-commercial adjunct for subscribers and are not sold separately.

Status & Scope

What AAP is — and what it is not.

AAP provides professional publications, continuing education and optional discussion facilities across the continent. It carries no public power, and it is important that no subscriber or member of the public ever mistakes it for a body that does.

AAP is

  • An annual subscription to professional publications, continuing-education and research material.
  • A programme with optional, non-commercial discussion and knowledge-exchange facilities through the AAP Corners.
  • A publisher of educational material, research and documentary media through the OUBAS Institute.
  • The issuer of a subscription certificate that records one thing only: that the holder has an active AAP subscription for a stated period.

AAP is not

  • A statutory or regulatory council, and it is not established under any Act.
  • A registration, licensing or accreditation body for any profession or trade.
  • A qualification authority — an AAP subscription is not a qualification and confers no designation, no title and no right to practise.
  • A substitute for the statutory body that governs your profession; members remain fully subject to their own regulators.
  • A law firm, an ombud or a dispute-resolution tribunal, and it does not act for members in disputes.

Use of the subscription certificate

The AAP certificate may be used to show an active annual subscription. It may not be presented as a professional licence, a registration, a practising certificate, an accreditation, or evidence of any qualification or competence. Misrepresenting the certificate is a ground for termination of the subscription.

Conduct in the Corners

Corners are peer discussion spaces. Contributions are the views of the member who posts them and are not OUBAS or AAP positions. Members must not offer regulated advice they are not licensed to give, must not publish another member's personal information, and must not use the Corners for unsolicited marketing.
